Bouchon Superior Merlot 2020 (750ml) CommandariaAt Bouchon our Winemaker has chosen to use oak barrels just enough to enhance the flavors of his Merlot without allowing the oak to dominate the varietal character. This requires careful attention to fermentation and to aging. Each wine is tasted repeatedly to determine how much of the oak has influenced the flavor. Only an experienced winemaker, tasting from barrel, can predict what the wine will be like when all of the flavors have been harmonized

A real stunner

Tight yet balanced

Allowed to breathe momentarily

but simply a small collection of estates surrounding an iconic church tower is all there is to show on the surface for a land filled with so much prestige and significance

with a racy beam of cassis and plum fruit carried by a graphite edge and backed by a mouthwatering anise note on the finish

atop a chain of hills next to the Rhône river
